Seaside Real Estate

SEASIDE – A NewUrbanism Master-Planned Town visited by design professionals from all over the US!

Founded and pioneered by Robert & Daryl Davis, Seaside became the very first pedestrian friendly New Urbanism community developed on 30A over 35 years ago. Located an equal distance between Panama City Beach and Destin, Seaside has become a fully developed community other developments model themselves after along 30A. Seaside, with its’ ‘New Town, Old Ways” became the backdrop and home for the filming of the ‘Truman Show’.

The Southern influence and charm of Seaside are featured through pastel colored cottages, oversized porches, white picket fences and friendly neighbors. Brick paved streets are seen filled with pedestrians on bikes or taking a leisurely stroll throughout the day. Tower rooms in many of the homes sitting back from the beach provide breathtaking views of the Gulf of Mexico. Some of the luxuriously distinctive Gulf front homes have been designed by the same Architects (Duany & Plater-Zyberk) who were instrumental in the planning of Seaside. Custom detailing and exquisite features set these homes apart from other Gulf front options in the immediate area.

A town of this caliber provides homeowners and visitors with an excellent array of amenities to be enjoyed; swimming pools, tennis courts, unique boutiques, galleries at Ruskin Place and dining within walking distance. Named pavilions are placed at the South end of each street for easy access to the beach.

EDUCATION FIRST: Founded in 1996, The Seaside School, Inc. was one of the first and is now one the oldest surviving charter schools in the state of Florida. The Seaside Neighborhood School, serves 5th through 8th grade students and Seacoast Collegiate High School serves 9th through 12th grades offering students the ability to graduate with an associate college degree.

RESTAURANTS

Great Southern Cafe

From Chef & Owner Jim Shirley – I believe our histories are told by the food we cook and eat. This restaurant tells the story of my history, of the great food and people I’ve met along the road. Here at Seaside, Florida, I mix my taste for international cuisines with Southern cooking and local food — fresh produce from nearby farms and fresh seafood from the Gulf of Mexico. I hope you find the flavors of my life and cooking to your liking. We’ll be looking for you. WEBSITE

Bud & Alleys Waterfront Restaurant & Bar

Good Food. Good People. Good Times. This beloved gathering place with the quirky name was founded serendipitously in 1987 by a couple of young local surfers on their way to catch some waves. Instead, they jumped into the chance to channel their energy and passion into Bud & Alley’s overlooking the Gulf of Mexico in the heart of Seaside on Scenic Highway 30A in Northwest Florida.

The pair named the place after the town founder’s dog and the restaurant owner’s cat, and created a dining tradition where sharing good food with good people and having a good time has become a way of life. But beyond serving up a fresh take on the Southern coastal classics, Bud & Alley’s has become a trusted tradition for generation after generation for those seeking the unassuming upscale seaside restaurant with a sense of place.

As the sun sets locals and visitors alike gather at dusk on the Rooftop Bar at Bud & Alley’s to celebrate the end of another perfect day in paradise by sounding the vintage bell.

Bud & Alley’s devotion to farm- and sea-to-table dining extends to casual eateries overlooking the Gulf, too. WEBSITE  Try their Pizza Bar & Taco Bar!

Dawson’s Yogurt & Fudge

Celebrating 20 Years of Serving the Finest Fudge and Yogurt! When founder Bill Dawson was just three years old he was photographed in Florence, South Carolina sitting on a block of ice on a hot summer day while licking an ice cream cone. Years later, after Bill built one of the original beachfront houses in Seaside, Florida, he agreed to open an ice cream shop for the soon-to-be-developed urbanized beach town. At the time, his venture was a risk – all you could see from the new store windows were beautiful sunsets and native scrub brush. Oh yes, the award-winning scenery still steals your breath away, but Dawson’s creamy yogurt and fudge makes the experience even more magical.

It is believed that Dawson’s Yogurt in Seaside holds the longest record for a yogurt shop open for business and remaining in its original location in the entire country. It’s easy to see why when you come on by! More than a million satisfied customers have spread the word about our tantalizing treats since Dawson’s Yogurt opened its doors on July 4th, 1988. The most tempting tastes in specially formulated frozen yogurt, fruit smoothies, fudge and other sweet morsels are waiting for you and your friends at our confectionary corner nestled in the heart of Seaside, Florida.
